You’ve put a countless number of hours into planning your special day. You’ve thought about the food, decorations, dress, invitations, guest list, seating arrangements…are you already stressed or should I continue?

By the time the big day arrives, you should be able to actually be able to enjoy the celebrations.

All eyes are on you. Make sure you enjoy every moment. So relax and be confident that all your hard planning will pay off in order to make this the best wedding of the year!

The key to being able to relax while resting assured that your guests are having a great time is the perfect band! Make sure you choose the right one.

Follow these guidelines and your guests will be talking about your wedding for years to come.

1. The size of the band

Be sure that the band you are hiring is a good fit for the venue you have chosen. If the band is going to need a ton of equipment and take up half the dance floor, you may want to reconsider that particular band. It is important that your guests have the opportunity to dance without fear of bumping in to the lead musician or getting bopped in the head with an instrument.

2. Guest List

Make sure the band is appropriate for the type of guests you have invited. If you have invited the whole family including aunts, uncles, grandma and grandpa, then choosing a young hip band may not be your best bet. It’s best to look for a band that’s appropriate for all ages. This way everyone will be up and dancing the night away.

3. Sample the Band

Avoid booking a band that you have never heard before. This could result in potential embarrassment on your part. Make sure to do your research on a band that you want performing at your wedding. Ask the band if you can get a list of songs, and if they have any videos or music samples for your viewing. Make sure you have a good feel for the band that will essentially be the soundtrack to your wedding.

4. When in doubt, stay classy

This is a day that you will remember for the rest of your life. You don’t want to look back and regret your decision to go with something that seems trendy now. It’s always a safe bet to stick with the classics. There is a reason that these songs have lasted for generations and still well known today. It’s almost guaranteed that you will have granny up and dancing alongside with your college buddies.
